Welcome to Fortson’s Taxidermy and
Studio, located in the Heart of Central
Texas, just a few minutes from Waco, Texas.
I’m Rob
Fortson, owner/taxidermist of Fortson’s Taxidermy.
To me, taxidermy is more than just throwing tanned
skin on a form and pushing it out the door.
Taxidermy is art. Passion mixed with creativity and
talent is the difference between average taxidermy
and something you’ll be proud to show off for years
to come. This is what you’ll find at Fortson’s
Taxidermy.
I was born in
Tanzania, Africa and raised in East Texas. I’m
passionate about wildlife. I love to hunt and fish,
so I know where you’re coming from when you show up
at my shop. My goal is for you to be more than just
happy with your mount. I want your business for
life!
I’m a member of
the Texas Taxidermy Association, Safari Club
International and Texas Trophy Hunters
Association. And I continue my education on the
latest taxidermy techniques through conference
seminars, competitions, and current publications and
magazines like Break Through Taxidermy.
For the last 2
years I’ve entered a Whitetail Shoulder Mount in the
Texas Taxidermy Association statewide competition
and won 2nd place and 3rd
place. This has been and will continue to be a
great learning tool for my commercial taxidermy
work.
